Another Crossroad Coming
She's so sick and tired
She hopes she gets fired
No one knows what she'll find
With no one to talk to
But her own lonely mind
The sun hitting the skin
The heat taking its time
Wearing her down
Evaporating her thoughts
Again and again
Until the very end
the work phone beeps
Yet another brilliant idea
From a corporate geek
On the usual power kick
It took her many years
But she's finally here
At another crossroad
Realizing she gave herself
to too many
And now to none out of fear
Listening to the complaining
Same excuses and no regret
While they lay next to her in bed
Talking about their sexless life
With their girlfriends and their wives
As she tries to make her own strides
Through the remaining few joys
And the too many tears
her hope slowly fades
And her soul into the darkness
disappears
The future has no place
for one like her
She must let go
Of what she has ever known
Because after all
Summer is almost gone
