By The Graveyard
I'm at the cemetery
Trying to find some solace
longing to hear without fear
No matter the cost
From those I've lost
I know their names
I like to repeat them
From time to time
Because I'm waiting
for them to tell how to be
When she'll come for me
In the distance
Bells announce a procession
Of no colors just black dresses
gloomy suits
Men, women and children
All wearing darkness
From shoes to glasses
One by one coming through
I hear their footsteps on the gravel
trying to conceal their tears
Death awaits hiding her smile
All wrapped up in her velvet mantle
A few black birds
Quietly watch from
The height of a willow tree
Walled in by narrow pines
There I stand, by a bunch
of nameless graves
With dry high grass and no flowers
It's the unknown burial place
That's where I find them
once again with no visible remains
just their memories
Clear in my heart and my brain
Ohhhh how I long to hear
No matter the cost
From those I've lost
How to face the grim reaper
Without reverence or fear
