Christine
Today Christine stopped by
With her name tattooed
In blackletters on her chest
Between her breasts and her chin
just above the sternum
She tells me she lives with seven
girls, all drug addicts and alcoholics
stealing things, breaking into her room
Two are on methadone, two smoke meth
The others just drink and drink
Screwing the many weird men
They bring in
Christine's eyes are screaming with a mix
Of relief and anger, clearly telling
It is her last night here on the Hill
Enough is enough, She has had it
Tomorrow she is moving to live with her family
She knows it may be a bit tough
But that's her only way out
to forget all of them and what they did
My heart goes out to her
I'm hoping, one day soon,
she'll be able to laugh again
