If the Sky Cries

I went to work a bit later today
Wondering if the sky was crying
Over the lives we lost yesterday
I heard the damaging words
some stupid reporters had to say
That will create more violence
And bring more hatred our way
Politicians and officials
Always speak of an easy fix
Pretending to help but they
never truly have anyone's six
They promise the same things
That never change anything
But most people want to
believe them anyway
And will keep on giving them
their votes on election day
So all I have left is to look at
the dark clouds in the sky
Wondering if the sky cries
When yet another child dies
