Nevermore

I woke up from a nap
with a chill
My feet painfully cold 
Like when in Winter
I stand on guard
On the Hill
I could only guess
What it meant
Outside my window
Still cloudy and damp
I should've known
I glanced at my phone
And saw the words that 
no one wants to be told
what once was 
From today on
won't be no more
An important part of my life
Is nevermore
What's left are the memories
I prefer to remember
What's gone are the ones
I need to forgive and forget
