One Night in Green Bay
A long time ago
When I first came to
America
On an evening like this one
I was in Wisconsin on a strip
Hopping from door to door
One bar, two saloons
A few more pubs and I was
Suddenly holding hands
With a pair of demons
While gorgeous bartenders
kept on pouring them
like they were going to be
The most wanted wives
Linenkugels, Sprechers
And several pints of High-Life
The brothers and I
Made it a night
Before dawn
Welcomed us stumbling
back home
Without fear we were
Sleeping in their parents
fantastic home
on the Fox River
In beautiful De Pere
I wish there was a way
I could go back to that night
in old Green Bay
With brothers Jeff
Hal, Fritz, Met and Greg
Jeff is sadly long gone but
I'll never forget his smile
As I sit here for a little while
Raising a few pints to him
And to what was a beautifully
Simpler life
