Proposed new laws
And passed bans
Still arguing about
If he is a woman 
or she is a man
Worrying if we piss 
standing up or sitting down
And bothered if we ask
to kindly use a better
fitting pronoun
I've been called whore
Fag and cunt
As DC keeps on going
With their witch hunt
They say people 
like me are evil
As they go fully medieval
showing off their 
White hoods and red crosses
Holding the ancient book
Stakes and burning torches
I continue to see neglect 
Abandon and no love left
Just more venom to inject
Acceptance met with
Bigoted resistance
The art of distraction
As hate gains forward traction
Gatekeeping and restrictions
administered to perfection
Profits and margins are just
For the powerful few
As we must bow down with
reverence and respect
While pluses, minuses and
digits in Times Square
scroll in plain sight
Announcing a new war to fight
Don't forget it's life and death

Of peace and freedom instead
Values this country 
Once so valiantly defended
And was known for
They are increasing costs
On healthcare and cutting funds
For education
The only tangible examples 
of a truly thriving nation
Preventative measures
Followed by eradication
But no one seems to care
With their glacial stares
As they increase the budget
On warfare
And cut the ones on welfare
Telling the world all 
will be fine as long as 
They can decide
The best way to mask
A quiet genocide
