It was hard to get up
struggling to accept
Something very real
Then keep asking myself
What will it take
For this world to heal

Two backwards
Senseless violence
Again on the news
A biased malevolence
Against us Trans
Seems to always follow
Widespread ignorance
Lack of sensibility
Lack of tact
Lack of awareness 
The News delivers
sensitive information
Just to upsell 
Some more of someone
Else's living Hell
I wanted to call my boss
To stay home
I had a moment of panic
A moment of fear
I just wanted to disappear
I texted my friend
To show courage instead
I had to look deep in my heart
Finding words I didn't have
I don't want to fail
My family, my friends
Those who know me well
I want to stand strong 
With a better story to tell
for those of us that can't
For those who before me
Stood fearless for our
Chances to live free
Safe from hatred and
Vile bigotry
