That Little Spark of Madness
I see it in your eyes
That tiny light
that illuminates
The darkest night
The things you say
a bit different
A bit uncommon
To some, a bit silly
To me, just right
The faces you make
With that telling smile
The only thing adults
Can do to retain their
long lost youth
That same smile that
Used to hide a bite on
the forbidden fruit
And then, when happiness
Is replaced by sadness
I am always mesmerized
by how quickly you show
that precious, life saving
little spark of madness
