WELCOME

The Cod Liver Blues

It was a hot sunny day
A long time ago
One could barely walk
There was no shade
And no desire to talk
We headed to
Astoria, Queens
For a dark brew
Some dumplings
And a hot stew
The curvaceous hostess
Brought a wild caught
Oceanic spread as a starter
I couldn't go any further
My head started spinning
before the first inning
The sweats followed
Then I blacked out
Stumbling, despite help
It was a long way to
The subway from Hell
The stop and go ride
on the commuter train
didn't help with the pain
Finally we got home
To the long awaited couch
The kids hopping around
Convinced my friend
To get the guitar out
He was no slouch
played a couple of chords
With rhythm and no cue
That's when I started singing
the cod liver blues
