The Ghost of Me
I was a ghost playing me
Under a white sheet
With no eyes and a few
Missing teeth
Always running around
With no holding grounds
With tar and cement
Burning under my feet
A world to find ahead
That I couldn't quite
picture yet
I needed something different
A destiny to reveal itself
After a handshake with Death
Without any fears
Just heavy separation tears
It was time to go
Seems like yesterday
But it has been a long
Long time ago
A one way ticket
To watch life unfold
Opened doors closing
Many bridges crossed
Strange how life goes
How things get
As you get old
Now that I'm finally here
I'm all set
no longer a ghost
counting my blessings
Instead of crying over
what I have lost
