The Last Nails
Life goes by
at the speed of light
I am with a stranger
Living his lie
pulling him closer
Holding him tight
My chin on his shoulder
So there's nothing to remember
I'm Insignificant, he's meaningless
He's no fire and I'm just an ember
I dig in his flesh with my fingers
Seeking a heartbeat and
some faceless warmth
But he is colder than
The winter winds from
the great white North
I am nowhere and everywhere
He's neither here nor there
He's like a boat with no
motor and no sails
I'm like a mortician
striking in the last nails
