The Whale

Trapped between 
the false and the obscene
with thoughts 
No longer serene
Steadfast
I walk back and forth
Above the ballast
I must not falter and find
The courage to brave
The treacherous waters 
I'm now in
I'm out in a sea of lunacy
Where reason has given way
To fools asserting 
their evil supremacy
All my efforts to find 
An alternate course
are void and null
Because a misguided
Enormous angry whale 
hit the hull
It's sink or swim
As my hopes to see
My family dims
I must hold my breath
While holding hands 
with Death
This is a bitter amend
My dearest friends
This is how freedom ends
