The Click Away Generation
Last night was no different than many other times when I find myself enraged by the lack of tact and understanding. I was so disappointed with myself to have fallen into the same old issue of giving too much credit to certain people. I am a friendly person, always looking for the good in people. I have very little to offer, but that little is usually made up of transparency and of a warm welcoming heart. I always try to understand everyone’s angle, situation, and uniqueness. Seldom finding a reason to be truly upset. However, I must draw a line when it comes to being directly and openly subject to offensive remarks. Especially after a few vodka infused drinks.
I remember some of my older peers telling me how hanging out with younger people helps you stay young. However true that might be it comes at a price. The superficial everything is appalling and brutal at the same time. With a few exceptions of course where it can be benefocial to experience a “new way” of seeing and doing things.
Since the smartphones, internet and the digital age we all have, and not so slowly, started to weaken our social skills that were once necessary to function properly in society.
I feel I am becoming the same way, sadly, too quick and superficial to judge others. Maybe what was once an asset to my social skill set is no longer, and it is dissipating scary fast. Gasp.
